The Junior League of Richmond (JLR) and Dominion Virginia Power will welcome six national authors to Richmond on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, for the 68th Book & Author Dinner. 








A spring literary feast taking place at the Greater Richmond Convention Center,
the Book & Author Dinner is the
longest running event of its kind in the country.

All proceeds benefit the JLR whose mission is to promote volunteerism, develop the potential of women, and improve communities
through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

Last year's event raised $60,000 and was attended by nearly 1,000 people.

Author Bob Deans will serve as Master of Ceremonies for this year’s panel featuring the following distinguished authors and their books along with publication dates:

  • Eben Alexander – “Proof of Heaven” (10/23/12)
  • Michael Shelden – “Young Titan: The Making of Winston Churchill” (3/5/13)
  • Leigh Newman – “Still Points North” (3/5/13)
  • Lucinda Scala Quinn – “Mad Hungry Cravings” (3/19/13)
  • Andrew Gross – “No Way Back” (4/2/13)
  • Rhonda Riley – “The Enchanted Life of Adam Hope” (4/23/13)
