If you are looking for an organization where you can make a difference in the greater Richmond community, try new things, build your existing talents, and meet new friends with common interests, then the Junior League of Richmond is the right place for you!

The Junior League of Richmond is open to women who possess an interest in voluntarism, a commitment to community service, and an interest in developing their potential through effective action and leadership. We believe that trained community volunteers can change our world for the better!

The Junior League of Richmond is proud of giving 100 years of community service to the Richmond community and also proud of the volunteers like you who make it possible. The success of the League begins with welcoming women who are committed to making a positive difference in our community and growing their leadership skills.

Membership Eligibility
To join the Junior League of Richmond, an applicant must have an interest to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. Additionally, the following requirements must be met:

  • Age: Prospective members must be at least 21 years of age by May 31 of the application year.
  • Residency: Prospective members must live in the Richmond area. The Richmond area is defined as any location within a 45 mile radius of the center of the City of Richmond (9th and Main Streets).

Attend a Recruitment Event
While this is not mandatory, we find it to be helpful to “Get to Know the JLR” by attending one of our recruitment events. Prospective Members will have the opportunity to meet other women interested in membership and meet current League members to answer questions about the overall League member experience in a fun environment. Participate in your New Member Year
New Members joining the League will enter as part of a New Member class. During your New Member year, you learn how the Junior League of Richmond gives back to the Richmond community through the projects it supports, utilize training and education opportunities, and make lifelong friends with other League members. Administrative approval will be given after payment has been received for both the New Member Application Fee and Provisional Member Dues.
