The Junior League of Richmond Celebrates 100 Years of Community Impact with the 21st Annual Touch-a-Truck® at Richmond Raceway

Join us as we honor our 100-year history and drive toward the future — one truck at a time.

Richmond, VA, July 17, 2026 – The Junior League of Richmond has been building better communities for 100 years through women’s leadership development, volunteer service, and community partnerships. This fall, the League invites the community to celebrate that legacy at the 21st Annual Touch-a-Truck®, one of Richmond’s favorite children’s events, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Richmond Raceway.

Touch-a-Truck® presented by the Junior League of Richmond offers children the exciting opportunity to climb, learn, explore, and touch a wide variety of vehicles, from fire trucks to construction equipment and meet the people who help build, protect, and serve our community. In addition to the impressive lineup of vehicles, families can enjoy a full day of entertainment and activities, including appearances by a local mascot, story time at the Lit Limo, creative projects in the art tent, and an afternoon bubble dance party. 

“This year’s Touch-a-Truck® is especially meaningful because it celebrates not only a beloved Richmond tradition but also the Junior League of Richmond’s 100 years of service to our community,” said Devon Cabot, Chair of the Junior League of Richmond’s Touch-A-Truck® Committee. “For a century, our members have developed women leaders who invest their time to advance lasting improvements to our community. Touch-a-Truck® brings that mission to life by connecting families, community partners, and volunteers in a fun, educational experience while helping ensure our work continues for generations to come.”

Returning This Year: Silent Hour from 1:00 – 2:00 PM – To create a more inclusive experience, sirens and horns will be turned off during this hour for those who prefer a quieter environment.

Proceeds from Touch-a-Truck® support the Junior League of Richmond’s mission to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. Today, the League’s Women Building Better Communities focus area mobilizes volunteers to strengthen the greater Richmond region through initiatives that promote active kids, support families, improve health and wellness, advance literacy, and strengthen housing.
