80th Annual Book & Author Event
The Junior League of Richmond invites you to be a part of the longest running event of its kind as we celebrate the 80th Book & Author Event on Thursday, May 8, 2025. The Book & Author Luncheon will begin at 12:00 P.M. at The Grapevine. The Evening Event will begin at 6:00 P.M. with a cocktail hour and heavy hors d’oeuvres at the John Marshall Ballrooms. Be sure to check out the Silent Auction baskets available to bid between 6:00 – 7:15 P.M. The authors presentations will begin in-person and virtually at 7:00 P.M. The Evening Event will be hosted once again by Bob Deans.
This year’s featured authors and books are:

- April Asher – A Simple Twist of Fate
- Kemper Donovan – Loose Lips
- Daria Burke – Of My Own Making
- Christopher Tilghman – On the Tobacco Coast
- Becky Aikman – Spitfires: The American Women Who Flew in the Face of Danger During World War II
- Landon Bryant – Bless Your Heart: A Field Guide to All Things Southern

Tickets and books are on sale now!
Luncheon
The Book & Author Luncheon will be held at The Grapevine Greek & Italian Restaurant, 11055 Three Chopt Road, Richmond, VA 23233, on Thursday, May 8. The luncheon will begin at 12:00 P.M. A book signing with all six authors will take place following the luncheon that will be exclusive to only luncheon attendees! Tickets to the luncheon are $55.00 per person. Space is limited. Luncheon ticket sales close on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
Evening Event
The Book & Author Evening Event will be held at the John Marshall Ballrooms, 101 N. 5th Street, Richmond, VA 23219, on Thursday, May 8. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will begin at 6:00 P.M. for in-person attendees. The author presentations and virtual event will begin at 7:00 P.M.
In-person tickets are $80.00 per person with general seating. A limited number of tables are available for $1,000. The purchase of a table includes 10 in-person tickets that will be seated together at a reserved table. Virtual tickets are $20.00. In-Person ticket sales close on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
Books
The Junior League of Richmond is once again partnering with local business, Fountain Bookstore, Inc. all the event’s book sales. Books are now available to order. Please note, book orders for currently available books will take between 7-10 business days to be fulfilled. Orders with pre-order books will be available for pick up at the in-person evening event. Notification for order pick up will be dispatched only after the arrival of all of the ordered books to ensure a consolidated and efficient process. We are so thankful for Fountain’s support of our Book & Author Event and the Junior League of Richmond throughout the years.
All event tickets and book orders are non-refundable.
