The Junior League of Richmond is thrilled to announce that we have been selected as the 2024 Beacon of Hope Recipient from Safe Harbor!

The Beacon of Hope Award was created by Safe Harbor in 2007 to recognize an outstanding individual or agency that has been instrumental in breaking the cycle of domestic violence, sexual violence, or human trafficking within the Richmond community. This award recognizes the outstanding contributions and unwavering commitment of the Junior League of Richmond to the community and Safe Harbor.

The Junior League of Richmond provided grants that supported Safe Harbor’s domestic violence program within the first three years of operation. In 2019, the Little Black Dress Initiative awarded $15,000 to Safe Harbor to support services that directly impacted the lives of trafficking victims. In 2023, the Junior League of Richmond provided a transformational grant of $155,000 for the creation of a multipurpose building for human trafficking survivors. In addition to providing grants, support was provided to Safe Harbor from our trained volunteers through our clothing voucher program.

The Junior League of Richmond will be honored with the Beacon of Hope Award on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the Glen Allen Arts Center. We are so excited to accept this recognition and continue our partnership with Safe Harbor.
