In 2008-2009, the Community Response Team worked in teams to directly assist a nonprofit organization reach their goals. Each team, comprised of members with advanced skills in fund development, strategic planning, and/or board development, partnered with a professional nonprofit consultant to provide assistance to a nonprofit. The selected nonprofit organization for 2007 - 2008 and 2008-2009 years was the Southside Child Development Center (SCDC). During the 2009 - 2010 Junior League year, the committee will be inactive until the strategic level committee further defines the Community Impact.  Following that designation, the committee will return to being active in researching and selecting the next non-profit organization to help.


On October 18, 2008, in conjunction with Hands On Greater Richmond, League members painted and mulched the playground , fence, and surrounding area to help brighten the lives of the children of SCDC so that they can be proud of their facility!
