Good Sports is a program, currently held at Elizabeth Redd Elementary, designed to educate children and their parents on character development through sports. The character development portion of the program is based on the national Character Counts program. There are six pillars of Character Counts: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. The students are given a book and a healthy box dinner at each program. In addition to leading sports activities, committee participants will have the opportunity to develop tools and resources to help families apply what they have learned through the program at home and in their community. Committee members will also build relationships with community partners.
